UNTOLD TALES BY CONFIDENCE ONYEMA

She sits on the rat infested bed again with such ease, one might even think she loved it. "Sweet darling", she called out to the little girl who was still trembling at the sight of Madam HOHA! Feared and revered at almost the same proportion by all her girls! She ran her restaurant and bar business with such great skill and finese but only a few knew what her business really was.

Little Kosi with her head bowed and her knees buckling could not seem to form the words to answer in her mouth. She just trembled on, shaking like a fowl without feathers under the cold rain. A thunderous slap greeted her cheek and at once her tongue was loose and began rambling "ma" and "please" in as many languages as she had picked up in her 16 years of existence. "So you can talk?" questioned Madam HOHA. "Why did you not serve Alhaji Adamu as directed? You were supposed to give him the the three course meal and the happy ending".

Another resonating slap got little Kosi talking. Crying, Kosi replied,"Madam Abeg no vex. I no well since last month, so when oga Adamu come, body no gree me do anything. But I been give am the first and second one. But e dey pain me well well. Abeg no vex ma." Kosi's gaze had not left the scalding iron that had been in madam's hand since she came in and her insides kept a steady drum roll that preceded mayhem. With a devilish laugh madam HOHA called out, "Girls"!!! Three hefty things that looked like female hulks and gorrilas at the same time who really at first glance wouldn't be called girls stepped in and grabbed Kosi before she could run away.

The searing heat from the iron said hello to her back and her screams could be heard a thousand miles away only if they could be heard. Madam had sound proof doors. The second assault was on her buttocks and this time, lasted longer. Kosi had never known such pain in her entire life and her wails were as that of a lion at child birth. "Next time don't be sick. HOHA!", madam said with a burning look that pierced Kosi's soul and imprinted a great fear that no other could surmount.

OMOTOLA ON MARRIAGE, RELIGION AND LIFESTYLE.

Nollywood star, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde opens up on  religion, infidelity, getting married as a teenager, music career,  20 years in the movie industry,  and more in an interview with tw magazine. Dreams in Nollywood: We were coming from a place where it was disgraceful to be an actor. My first plan was to earn money to help my brothers. When I achieved that, my dream was to make this job a success so much that people would respect me and I would be proud of myself. It was just to earn the respect of Nigerians. Seeing her as headstrong and arrogant: I realized I was different and it made me a target. A long time ago, when it was not popular to do so, I demanded that they pack my food on set. And they said I was proud. I tried to fit in, in the past, but after a while I feel I don’t have to be apologetic. I asked, ‘Why am I too fast?’ God told me, if that is how I made you, then don’t apologize for it. I have always demanded high standards, I have realized that I ha...
