The game of thrones star who in recent weeks have been in the news for his stance against objectification and sexualization of men has responded about the shocking "backlash" hes gotten over his comment.
He says: "I found it unfair, really, some of the stuff I read [in response]. I was making a point, which was that I think young men do get objectified, do get sexualized unnecessarily. As a person who is definitely in that category, as a young leading man in this world, I feel I have a unique voice to talk about that. I was making a point to sort of say, ‘It just needs to be highlighted.’ With every photo shoot I ever go to, I’m told to take off my shirt, and I don’t."
In my opinion, i feel objectification in a whole is very wrong and frankly demeaning. it feels a bit weird when you based someone on something they possess and not who they truly are. there are laws in america and i understand that vividly, but why not for men? in all honesty not all men like to be based on their physical attributes or possessions and we are being put on that stance. it doesnt sit right to a person when you invoke stereotypes on them.
