RANTS.....

First of all I'd like to just say I'm not a music critic or into the music business in any sort, well maybe I am seeing as I am a consumer. Over the past couple of weeks I've been fuming and basically going crazy about the music scene in Nigeria.

Like I said earlier I'm so not a music critic just a fan of really good music. Last week  a pal after going through My music playlist on My phone asked me Why I don't have many Nigerian Music on My phone as 90% are from another continent entirely.  And My response came as a shock to both of us,  I said "I'm tired of listening to rubbish". Now lemme explain, I love music, like I really love music, I have so many songs on My phone from oldies to latest tracks and as such I think it's only expected that with time, My music taste should evolve.  I'm a fan of creativity, thinking outside the box and talent. These days everyone is a musician, as long as you've for the right backing and some street swag, you're automatically a musician, no shade to the hustle but what happened to good old talent, Where you've actually got to have some serious vocals to actually be called an artist.

I came back home a couple of days back and my brother showed Me the "we are the world, African all stars" video and I was excited to just see How it would turn out, after anxiously waiting to watch it for months now, so I sat down, ear buds in and hit play, it started off really good, with Praiz giving us that deep and soulful voice (He should go back to pure RnB and soul music btw ) and you see Tiw savage hitting all the right notes as per usual, and Emma Nyra giving off soul and I'm like okay, this is good, it's going well, I'm getting the "I need to do better with My fellow man vibe" and then it got to Kcee's turn and I'm like "Oh Lord why!!!!". I just stopped watching the video after that and being too ashamed ever since. that was just the icing on the cake.

I feel like Nigerians are just into one type of genre which is basically Dancehall and everyone is into it cause it sells and as such, pure talent and creativity gets lost. Don't get me wrong, there are actually some artist who are pulling their weights and doing it well even in Dancehall,  take the Mavins, Davido, Waje, Tu face, Omawummi,  Olamide just to name a few who actually exude pure talent and know what they are doing. But a few cannot outweigh the majority, That's what the government say when they want to invoke a new law, and in this case I feel it's true. But it's not all about letting loose and talking about a girls "booty " or "How her shape makes you crazy" cause That's the message of literally 75% of the songs in Nigeria. Sometimes we just need something different, sometime easy and actually meaningful,  something that doesn't have to actually do with How big a girl's ass is or How badly you want to bang her, something thats actually pure, honest and real, share real emotions and pains and happiness, dig deep and be more creative, give good beats, rhythm  and most importantly an honest message.

I know its not going to be an automatic change but starting now, that change will not be far away. Thank you....

The resolution of the marriage between Christ Embassy Church founder, Pastor Christian Oyakhilome, and his wife, Rev. Anita Odegwa Oyakhilome, has entered the final phase, TheCable has reported. The wife is seeking divorce on the grounds of "unreasonable behaviour" and "adultery". She outlined several allegations against the pastor which TheCable cannot publish for legal reasons. The divorce case, with Suit No FD14D01650, was filed on April 9, 2014 at Divorce Section A, Central Family Court, First Avenue House, High Holborn, London, UK, on Anita's behalf by Attwaters Jameson Hill Solicitors, a full-service law firm with expertise in commercial law and a strong consumer focus in family, wills and estate, personal injury law and medical negligence. Efforts to reconcile the popular couple, whose church is one of the biggest denominations in Nigeria and has branches all over world, have failed. They have two teenage daughters, Sharon and Charlyn. There are so many issues facing our society currently . in the African hemisphere moral values are upheld because traditional tenets are what makes our community survive. On this note am talking about the issue of Gay marriage, many African countries have strict laws against this heinious act because they see it has abnormal. For example in Zimbabwe president Mugabe has issued a law that any gay person caught should be burnt on a wooden stake. In Nigeria its 14 years jail sentence,With all this laws been passed as a counter to same sex marriage , the western world as frowned at this and they have sanctioned many African states. They have threatened to stop sending aid to Africa especially Britain because of these laws . In America same sex marriage as been legalized because they say every man chooses to be whoever he wants to be either straight or gay. Obama preaches that everyman is equal and the Lesbians and Gay community as been given a boost by this singular act. To ...
