I think its not news now that Nina Dobrev who plays Elena on the hit TV show The Vampire Diaries has quit the show but many don't really know why she did it.
Fans all over the world where shocked when it was announced that she has left the cast and there were speculations as to why she did it, some citing the fact that her complicated relationship with ex boyfriend who plays her love interest in the series and who got married sometime this month made things uneasy for her.
In a recent interview Julie Plec ( the co creator of the show) actually stated the reason why she left. she says; “She was just looking forward to moving on with no hard feelings and no drama."
“This is taking the personal out of it completely, from a storytelling point of view it’s a great challenge. As writers in the room we’re finding it very rejuvenating. Just on a strictly creative exercise level,” she added.
"Nina had said earlier this year that she wanted to be done and we spent a little bit of time trying to talk her out of it. [We'd say,] ‘Oh, look at all these great plans of how you can stay!’” she explained. “And she finally was like, ‘No, I signed up for six years. I’ve done my six years. I’m ready to move on and spread my wings."
I am not a big fan of The Vampire Diaries, I literally stopped watching it when The Originals aired but I feel its a good move, i don't think its just because her contract is almost done and she wants to try new things, i kinda feel she didn't feel like it would be proper to get entangled in a situation where your ex boyfriend who's now married is your love interest. it wont sit right with anyone. I am actually looking forward to seeing what her acting future would look like and she took a bold decision and lets hope it works out well.
