CEO OF ONE OF THE LARGEST TECH COMPANY IN THE WORLD COMES OUT TO SAY HE IS GAY!!!

Timothy D. Cook , Apple 's chief executive, likes to tell people that his predecessor, Steven P. Jobs, urged him to be himself when he took over the company. Mr. Cook is taking that advice. On Thursday, he said he was gay — the most striking example of how he is in many ways making  Apple  a more open, less secretive company. "Let me be clear: I'm proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me," Mr. Cook  wrote in  the essay , published by Bloomberg Businessweek. Mr. Cook's decision is unlikely to have any major impact on Apple's global business, said business analysts and professors. But they added that because it was a bold move, it was full of unknowns. No business executive of Mr. Cook's stature has ever done something like this before. And while laws legalizing  same-sex marriage  are sweeping places like the United States, Latin America and Europe, gay rights advocates are still struggling to secure basic protecti

SHOULD THE GIANT OF AFRICA BREAK UP IN 2015? BY AMBWELO

The hope of a continent was born on October 1, 1960.Africa had just survived the most traumatic period of its existence-colonialism which stretched over 200 years from the 19th to the 20th centuries.  This battered continent suddenly exposed by the decolonisation processes of the  1950s and 1960s naturally looked up to Nigeria to fill up the yawning leadership gap in Africa. The most populous black nation  on earth, 6th largest producer of crude oil as well as an avalanche of human and natural resources certainly seemed  to be a good fit at the time. Fifty-four years later however, such claim by the Giant as to the leadership of Africa is certainly up for contestation. The nation has experienced its fair share of ups and downs and its current posture is a far cry from what its nationalist leaders had dreamt of.  Nigeria has consistently failed to set an example for other states in the  African continent to follow. The expectation that it mirror the kind of influence and  respect displa

INTRIGUING FACTS ABOUT NIGERIA@54

1. October 1st 1960, Nigeria gained 'independence' from Britain. But the highest judicial authority was the Privy Council." 2. Nigeria was created as a company, not a Nation. The royal Niger company, a corporate entity in 1900. Are we really independent?" 3. It may offend some of you that I refer to Nigeria as a company, working for the west even till today. Let me explain" 4. The British paid £896,000 to buy Nigeria in 1900, a huge amount at that time. Just like you buy a company." 5. After over 50 years of direct colonial rule, Nigerians began to fight for self-government. But this is where it gets complicated." 6. Those that fought for independence, we're united by the common goal of self-government and so, they worked together. The west knew this." 7. As Nigerians got smarter, so did the colonialists. Chains and guns were no longer enough to enslave a nation. So they developed a plan." 8. The colonialists knew that apart from the share

AN OPEN LETTER TO NIGERIANS @54

Happy independence day to all Nigerians God bless Nigeria. We as proud citizens of this country are praying that terrorism and corruption is flushed out .Am so excited because this coming election is going to change the course of history for Nigerians . As we celebrate  Nigeria @ 54  let us bear it mind that this country is ours and we have been charged with the responsibility of building and developing our great nation irrespective of tribe, age, gender . We are striving for a better Nigeria although there are many vices militating against good governance.  I believe strongly that we are going to change the face of politics in Nigeria . I stand to say one man one vote, no rigging of elections, free and fair elections, reformed electoral processes, good roads, quality education, constant electricity supply, increase in employment etc In doing so, we are leaving a legacy for our children . Don't lose hope yet, we are a great nation blessed by God.  Once again Happy independence day.
