Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Senior Partner in the Law firm of Simmons Cooper Partners. His tertiary education was at the University of Lagos and the London School of Economics and Political Science obtaining the LLB and LLM degrees respectively.

He was appointed Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in 1999 and reappointed for a second term in 2003. During the period of his public service, he commenced the Lagos State justice reform project. A prominent feature of that project was the establishment of the Directorate for Citizens' Rights (DCR) which provides free legal services and legal representation to indigent citizens of the state. This initiative gave a voice to many who would otherwise not have a way to access their rights.

Prior to that appointment, Osinbajo, a Professor of Law, was the Head of Public Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos. Between 1988 and 1992, he was the Special Adviser to the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He also served as a staff member of the United Nations and Member of the United Nation's Secretary General's Committee of Experts on Conduct and Discipline of UN Peacekeeping personnel around the globe.

He is currently an Ethics Advisor to the Ethics Committee of the African Development Bank and is a non-executive Director of Citibank. Prof. Osinbajo is Co-founder & Board Member Convention on Business Integrity and the Justice Research Institute Ltd. He has also authored several law books. In 2007, Prof. and his wife Oludolapo founded "The Orderly Society Trust", a non- governmental organization that is dedicated to the promotion of Christian ethics and orderliness.

He also pastors at Olive Tree House of Prayer for All Nations, Banana Island, a parish of the RCCG and lives in Lagos with his wife,Dolapo Osinbajo who is a grandchild of Obafemi Awolowo and three children.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), has picked a former Attorney- General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos State, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, as his running mate for next year's presidential election.

The former head of state broke the news to Osinbajo at 1.00am on Wednesday morning. The choice of Buhari's running mate has generated keen interest since the retired army general's emergence as APC presidential candidate last Thursday.

DONALD TRUMP AS BEEN REMOVED AS HONORS IN BUSINESS

A Scottish university which awarded Donald Trump with an honorary degree in 2010 has confirmed it is revoking it after the US presidential frontrunner made controversial remarks about Muslims in statements, writes Aftab Ali for  The Independent . BREAKING NEWS: EX NSA DANSUKI GRANTED BAIL

The embattled Ex National Security Adviser Dansuki alongside 3 of his accomplices have been granted bail on the counts of the Arms Deal Scandal of  N650m. The judge over the case, Huseni Baba-Yusuf granted the five accused persons on a bond of N250 million each. The accused are to produce sureties – a director in the Federal Civil Service Commission(FCSC). The sureties must provide property worth N250 million within Abuja, and an evidence of means. The defendants are also expected to deposit their travel passports and their counsels must notify the court of any intention by the defendants to travel out of Abuja. He added that until the perfect the bail conditions, the accused person will remain remanded in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
